Openings & New Hires at Retailigence, Square, Patch, PayPal and more…

Every two weeks, Search Influence’s Kelly Benish — who knows practically everyone in hyperlocal — covers some of the latest job changes taking place in this dynamic industry. (Plus, scroll down for jobs on offer now.)

Susan Lyne — AOL
An underground source said that AOL is set to hire well-known media and Internet exec Susan Lyne to be CEO of its content brands unit at the New York-based Web company, except for the Huffington Post Media Group headed by Arianna Huffington. Lyne has most recently been chairman of the Gilt Groupe and was CEO previous to that. She will retain her board role at the online retailer, but is likely to give up her director role at AOL. She is set to be on its executive operating committee going forward.

Keith Rabois — Khosla Ventures
After many rumors about where he’d go next, including one that had him joining Airbnb as COO, Keith Rabois has joined Silicon Valley venture capital firm Khosla Ventures. Will this put to bed his controversial departure from Square? Rumors of tiddley winks permeated the Square office in late January 2013 when Rabois was accused of sexually harassing a fellow Square employee. Keith admitted irreparable image damage and decided to check out.

Jared Fliesler — Square
Meanwhile, over at Rabois’s former stomping grounds, Jared Fliesler, Square’s vice president of user acquisition and business operations, has left the building. These aren’t the only ones. Word has it Square is losing employees, particularly in its customer -support operations and risk department, which manages fraud and merchant-account approvals.

Rohan Chandran — YP
As longtime head of consumer products for YP, Rohan Chandran is now on the prowl for a new role. He apparently willingly left his role but a little birdie told me that YP is firing fast and hiring to last. Chandran’s move with no actual job lined up was alarming but with over 10 years of online marketing and product experience under his belt, something tells me that Chandran will be A-OK.

Lawrence “Laurie”  Mann — Yahoo
Longtime Yahoo executive Laurence “Laurie” Mann, who was most recently SVP of engineering operations at the left coast internet giant, has been given the new job of heading all of its search efforts, according to sources inside the company. The appointment by CEO Marissa Mayer was announced in an internal memo last week to put Mann in a key position at Yahoo, given the need to fix its troubled search partnership with Microsoft, which was struck in 2010.

Rob Jonas — PubMatic
PubMatic is certainly on a hiring blitz! One week after I reported that it had named Andrew Zeiger as chief revenue officer, the company has appointed former Google and InMobi exec Rob Jonas as vice president and managing director, EMEA and APAC. More details have been published here, but the main idea is that he’s been hired to help support worldwide RTB-based ad spend increase to $13.9 billion by 2016. AKA — he’s been tasked to internationally grow the company as a whole and build up brand awareness.

Pierre Valade and Jeremy Le Van — Sunrise
Sunrise, a new startup developing a better calendar tool (we sure could use one!), has been launched by Valade and Le Van, two former engineers who came from Foursquare. Their departures follow those by former PR manager Erin Gleason, former head of talent Morgan Missen, designer Ted Power, and early badge creator Mari Sheibly.
