Openings and New Hires at Main Street Hub, Yext, PlaceIQ, and CallFire
Every two weeks, Search Influence’s Kelly Benish — who knows practically everyone in hyperlocal — covers some of the latest job changes taking place in this dynamic industry. (Plus, scroll down for jobs on offer now.)
Jed Williams – Main Street Hub
I had the pleasure of meeting Jed Williams years ago when he started at BIA/Kelsey as an analyst and quickly climbed his way up the ladder to VP of strategic consulting and senior analyst. Jed is not only a Tarheel but he is incredibly sharp and will inevitably help Main Street Hub build their brand in the space as the company’s director of business development, where he’ll focus on building partnerships to further accelerate Main Street Hub’s growth.
Geri Guillermo – Yext
Geri Guillermo recently joined Yext as director of agency sales. In the newly created role, Geri will be focused on growing strategic agency partnerships and building efficiencies to grow the business. Most recently, Geri was a sales director at ShareThis where she managed a regional sales team and sold their social media platform to agencies and direct clients. Prior to ShareThis, Geri spent five years leading national sales for AOL’s search and sponsored listings products, overseeing over $60M in annual revenue.
Tridivesh Kidambi – CallFire
Cloud-based text and voice marketing platform CallFire has appointed former Demand Media VP of finance & investor relations Tridivesh Kidambi as their CFO. Kidambi will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial planning, accounting and treasury operations, as well providing analytical and operational support to the organization. In his new role, Kidambi will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial planning, accounting and treasury operations, as well providing analytical and operational support to the organization. Kidambi will also provide guidance to the overall strategic direction of the company as part of its collaborative executive team.
Ed Haslam and Phil London – PlaceIQ
PlaceIQ has announced that it has hired two new seasoned business executives, Ed Haslam as SVP of marketing and Dr. Phil London as SVP of product and technology. Haslam will be responsible for driving PlaceIQ’s marketing strategy, leading both the corporate and product marketing teams, while Dr. London will be responsible for setting the PlaceIQ technology roadmap, and overseeing the product management, data science, engineering and infrastructure teams.
Gautam Thakar – LivingSocial
LivingSocial can begin its new beginning. The troubled daily deals site has hired Gautam Thaker, the former CEO of Shopping.com, to replace co-founder and CEO Tim O’Shaughnessy who announced he would step down earlier this year. Thaker had been the general manager of eBay’s advertising business and has served as the company’s head of international advertising as well as a country manager in India. He will take the helm in mid-August, and O’Shaughnessy will move to an advisory role.
Joanna Lord – Porch
Porch is packing it up, packing it in…and by “it” I mean high falutin’ talent. The latest to join the fast-growing Seattle online home improvement startup is Joanna Lord who will be their VP of consumer marketing. Most recently, Joanna served as CMO at BigDoor, which is a loyalty marketing platform. I’ve been following her career since her four-year stint in growth marketing at Moz. Porch, which has grown to more than 125 employees in the past few months, is led by entrepreneur Matt Ehrlichman. Other recent hires include Amazon.com software architect and former Paul Allen tech advisor Parag Garg and former Amazon & TeachStreet software engineer Daryn Nakhuda.
