Openings and New Hires at Bing, Inside Sales, Access Communications

Every two weeks, Kelly Benish — who knows practically everyone in hyperlocal — covers some of the latest job changes taking place in this dynamic industry. (Plus, scroll down for jobs on offer now.)

Duane Forrester – Microsoft/Bing
Sixty days ago, Microsoft was laying off employees in mass quantity and decided to let Duane Forrester go. Duane was a representation of the Bing brand to many — the voice and personality for them even as he was their Webmaster outreach manager. After a little time away, last week Duane announced plans to return to Bing in a role similar to his previous gig. Once he left, his many followers came to his defense and voiced their dismay on his abrupt departure. Microsoft ended up saying “baby come back.”

Bill McIntyre – Ketchum
Bill McIntyre was recently brought on as Ketchum’s director. In the past he was an EVP at Edelman where he managed digital and traditional public affairs. Both roles are based in Washington and in his free time, Bill is an adjunct professor at Georgetown. He’s also the former NRA chief national spokesman and was featured in The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and PR Week. It sounds like Ketchum’s certainly caught the right one for the role!

Stanford Bonnemort – Inside Sales
Stanford Bonnemort recently left Orange Soda as their senior director of enterprise marketing to join Inside Sales, a SaaS-based sales acceleration platform. I had the pleasure of getting to know “Stan the man” a few years ago while he was at Orange Soda and he did a great job of working the room and networking at conferences. All the best to him in his new transition.

Nancy Blair – Access Communications
Nancy Blair was recently named vice president of content at Access Communications where she will be charged with curating and editing PR-related content. She’s been an editor for almost twenty years and most recently had been technology editor at USA Today. While at USA Today, she was also a personal finance editor. Before that role, she was an editor at Gannett and The Journal News.

Jennifer Warren – At Home
Jennifer Warren has been named CMO at At Home (the store formerly known as Garden Ridge). She was most recently CMO at Radio Shack, a leading national retailer of consumer electronics, and technology products and services. Prior to RadioShack, Jennifer’s experience includes developing strategy and building top tier brands and businesses through multi-channel marketing solutions. Brands Include: Samsung, Dell, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Kinko’s, Dial, Land Rover, Charles Schwab, Southwest Airlines, Chili’s, Hallmark, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Zales.
