Restaurants are a particularly large and important vertical in local, and as such they’ve long been a testing ground for a variety of digital products. Now a new generation of companies is starting to use local marketing and delivery services to rethink what a restaurant is and how we think about our dining experiences.

At Street Fight Summit West in San Francisco earlier this month, the National Restaurant Association’s Anna Tauzin spoke with top execs from three tech companies looking to remake the restaurant experience. SinglePlatform founder Wiley Cerilli spoke about his new venture, Good Uncle, which seeks to bring a “virtual restaurant” model to smaller markets — delivering freshly prepared, gourmet food and celebrated dishes from famous chefs. OpenTable SVP Catherine Porter, spoke about the micro-moments on mobile that the company capitalizes on and how data and personalization can transform the dining experience.  And Nowait CEO Ware Sykes spoke about the push to make dining experiences more seamless and magical.
