The franchise space has become more complex and dynamic in recent years. A key part of the MULO (multi-location) landscape, it has its own subject matter experts, consultants, ecosystem, investors, and owners.

One of the topics we’ll be delving into at Street Fight LIVE 2025 is the ever-evolving role of franchisors and franchisees in scaling, marketing, and technology.

At Street Fight LIVE 2024, Gregory Ugwi, Co-founder of WeFranch, took the stage to talk about his platform that makes franchising simple and quick for SMBs. Now, WeFranch is playing an even larger role in the ecosystem with a “nationwide franchise tour” for owners and operators.

Taking a page from rock concert schedules and brand consumer activations, Ugwi and his clients are hosting ten in-person events in seven U.S. cities. Chick-fil-A will be among the presenters.

It is unique way for potential owners to hear from those companies interested in “recruiting” them and for the brands themselves to compel new and existing franchisees to invest in their companies.

Five franchisors will present for five minutes each and then “judges” and the audience can follow-up with three minutes of questions and answers.

This “speed pitch format” has become increasingly popular in all sectors, as our attention spans decrease and we value our time more than ever.

Ugwi’s “rock stars” will appear in the following cities:

  • NYC: February 25th & June 3rd
  • Chicago: February 26th
  • Seattle: March 6th & September 11th
  • Los Angeles: April 8th & October 7th
  • Miami: May 8th
  • Denver: August 5th
  • Portland: September 9th

Henry Anderson, a nine-year veteran of the NFL and Michael MacDonald, the Co-CEO of Earn Your Leisure would be among the judges.

On December 10, 2024, Henry Anderson officially retired from the NFL after playing for the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, New England Patriots, and Carolina Panthers. Henry is now launching 14+  Acai Bowl stores across the Nashville region, according to this WeFranch article.

That clearly illustrates some of the backgrounds of today’s industry owners. Approximately 10 percent of all businesses today are franchised or franchise-owned and contribute about $41B to the economy. This chart from Franchise Times ranks the most prominent franchise brands.
