Uber Hires CMO
Rebecca Messina was hired as Chief Marketing Officer at Uber. Messina has over 20 years of marketing experience with most of her career spent at Coca-Cola. She was previously Senior Vice President of Marketing and Innovations at Coca-Cola.
CIO and COO Added to Amobee Leadership Team
Scott Ferber (formerly CEO of Videology) is now Chief Innovation Officer at Amobee after the recent acquisition of Videology. Ferber founded and ran Videology for over 11 years before being acquired. Domenic Venuto is now the Chief Operating Officer at Amobee. Venuto was most recently General Manager of IBM Watson’s Consumer Division and Watson Advertising.
Senior Facebook Exec Departs to Netflix
Rachel Whetstone has joined Netlifx as Head of Public Relations after a short stint at Facebook. Whetsone was recruited to run communications at WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Previously, she also worked at Uber and Google in corporate communication roles.
CMO Hire at JumpCrew
JumpCrew announced that it has hired Lavall Chichester as Chief Marketing Officer. Most recently, Chichester was the Head of Search and Content Marketing at Lowe Profero with 12 years of developing Search, Social Media, and Content Marketing Strategies for brands like Apple, Western Union, Smirnoff, Kaiser Permanate, Vitamin Water, and others.
Two Leadership Hires at Freckle IoT
Frank Thomas was named CTO and will be leading the technology vision and execution for Freckle IoT and Killi. Thomas joins Freckle from Rubikloud, where he was the founding CTO and Chief Architect.
Jenny Fahlbush was appointed Freckle IoT’s Vice President of Marketing. Fahlbush brings two decades of experience spanning B2B and B2C for brands including IDG Communications, Inc., Sonesta Hotels, The Boston Globe, Boston.com, Mindshare Interactive Campaigns, and The White House.
dataPlor Expands Executive Team
After raising a recent venture round from top investors, emerging market data company dataPlor has hired Ryan Urabe as Head of Engineering and Adam Smith as Head of Operations and Product. Urabe is a 2x founder and former CTO and Co-Founder of Brandfolder, Techstars Boulder alum. Smith is an MIT graduate with 15+ years of product experience as well as an iOS and full stack engineer.
