SaaS Exec Joins Bailhoo
Idaho-headquartered Balihoo, has hired Christopher Cunningham as Vice President of Sales & Strategic Partnerships. Balihoo is a provider of digital advertising technology for national brands that need to market hyper-locally at scale. The company raised over $24m over the past several years with the last investment injection in 2013. Cunningham’s experience strategically aligns with Balihoo and future growth. Most recently, he was Director of Business Development at Marchex. Additionally, he has worked in leadership roles at digital marketing and SaaS companies such as Haystack Digital Marketing, Kenshoo, and Yahoo!

Yext Hires Partner Sales VP
With all the buzz about Yext’s IPO, it should come to no surprise that more talent is joining the company on a weekly basis. Anthony Scaglione was appointed as Vice President of Partner Sales at the comany. Scaglione was most recently Head of Agency Sales & Partnerships at Signpost for the past two years.

Head of Communications at Uber Departs
After continued drama and limelight, Uber’s Head of Communications, is leaving the company. Rachel Whetstone spent two years at Uber before stepping down. Her deputy, Jill Hazelbaker, will step in to lead communications for the transportation juggernaut. Hazelbaker has spent the last year and a half as Vice President of Communications and Public Policy before the promotion. She will need to step up to the plate in order to drive critical messaging surrounding internal employee issues, corporate valuation, and city government pushback.

LA Fund Hires Factual Executive
Newly founded Fika Ventures has hired Factual’s Matt Hersh as Vice President. Based in Los Angeles, Fika Ventures raised a $41m fund in 2016 and invests in early stage fintech, marketplaces, and digital health companies. One of the General Partners at Fika Ventures – Eva Ho – also worked at Factual. Hersh joins the venture firm after almost four years running Enterprise Business Development at Factual. Prior to Factual, Hersh held advisor roles at Mucker Labs and Surf Air as well as leadership roles at Originate and Yodlee.

Placed Hiring Spree
Placed has added Brian McAndrews to its Board of Directors. McAndrews was most recently CEO of Pandora and aQuantive. Additionally, Craig Whitmer joins Placed as Vice President of Programmatic. Whitmer was most recently Vice President of Platform Sales at Yahoo. Placed raised $10m in 2014, so the timing to add a new board member is interesting. The company could be preparing to go raise additional venture capital or potential exit. Placed is a location-driven insights and mobile ad intelligence company and provides the most complete understanding of consumers’ offline behaviors.

EQ Works Hires Former TubeMogul Sales Leader
Robert Meth has left Metroland Media Group to join EQ Works as Vice President of Growth and Partnerships. EQ Works uses its real-time mobile location technology and advanced analytics to detect the actionable data that boosts performance for all web, mobile, social and video initiatives. Meth will lead partnerships and provide business services to agencies, brands, and publishers. Before joining EQ Works, he was Head of Digital Revenue at Metroland Media Group (division of Torstar) and Head of Enterprise Sales at TubeMogul (acquired by Adobe).

Acquisio Appoints Advisor
The machine learning paid search marketing platform Acquisio has brought on Geoffrey Michener (well, me) as an advisor. I’ll provide Acquisio’s executive team with guidance on strategy, operations, and client development. The company has raised over $23m in venture capital, manages $2b worth of paid marketing spend, and has a 23% market share of all local paid search technology providers. I previously co-founded and was COO at ProspectWise, was general manager at Belly, and co-led a 100-person sales team at LivingSocial.

Dallas-based Speakeasy is looking to hire for a number of different positions, including content director and account director.

Yelp is looking for a business development manager for Eat24 and Yelp Reservations, as well as a business development growth manager for advertising channel partnerships, both working out of the company’s S.F. office.

PlaceIQ has an opening for a product manager based at he company’s NYC headquarters.

Foursquare has a number of business development roles open, including senior business development executive in Asia, and an SF-based business development associate.

TigerPistol has an opening for a director of partner management & operations.
