Openings & New Hires at Kenshoo, GateHouse, Local Corp and Search Influence
Every two weeks, Search Influence’s Kelly Benish — who knows practically everyone in hyperlocal — covers some of the latest job changes taking place in this dynamic industry. (Plus, scroll down for jobs on offer now.)
Fred Thiel – Local Corp.
Local Corp, the Irvine-based online advertising technology company recently chose Fred Thiel as their new board of directors chairman. Thiel replaces Heath Clarke, former CEO and chairman, who abruptly left Local last week due to personal reasons. Clarke founded Local Corp. in 1999 to connect businesses to consumers with their suite of advertising products. I’m sad to see Heath leave, but excited to see where he decides to go. Meanwhile, Thiel has some big shoes to fill.
Erica Salm Rench – Search Influence
Erica Salm Rench has been hired as an operations associate for Search Influence. As part of the operations department, Erica works to analyze and implement processes that support the Influencers in producing high quality work. Originally from the Greater Chicago Area, Erica came to New Orleans in 2004 to start her undergraduate years at Tulane University, where she earned both her Bachelor’s degree and her MBA. Before joining Search Influence, Erica worked as Associate Director in Tulane’s Office of Undergraduate Admission. She is also a great yoga and sushi buddy — glad to have you on board!
Brad Dennison – GateHouse Media
GateHouse Media, a multi-media company providing news and information to local communities recently announced that Brad Dennison has been named SVP of Publishing. Most recently, Dennison managed the large daily division of newspapers for GateHouse Media. Kirk Davis, their president and COO said Dennison will be responsible for corporate services that include news & content, advertising sales, marketing. He will also take on all publishing divisions, which include the large daily papers, New England, Community East and Community West.
Gary Nafus – Kenshoo
Automated PPC platform Kenshoo announced the appointment of Gary Nafus as the managing director of the Americas just last week. Nafus comes with more than 15 years of high level software sales experience and has been serving as VP of sales and interim managing director for the Asia Pacific region at Kenshoo since March of 2013. Prior to Kenshoo, Nafus was VP of sales at Oracle Corporation in North America. Before that, he worked for PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards as a regional sales director. In his new role, Nafus will oversee and manage Kenshoo’s expansion, strategy and client delivery to ensure continued success across key markets. It sounds like Gary was a Ken-shoo-in!

Joan brings with her quarter century of experience in the newspaper industry, her charge is to help PAGE members to maximize and leverage the benefits provided through the Cooperative.
