Street Fight announced the winners of the 2016 Local Visionary Awards yesterday in a ceremony at the company’s flagship NYC conference. The 13-category competition honors the very best campaigns, companies, ideas, and individuals working in the local marketing and commerce ecosystem.

“A disruption has been taking place in local marketing and commerce, with thousands of companies and individuals producing some very exciting, groundbreaking digital solutions that create new ways for local businesses to connect with local consumers,” said Laura Rich, co-founder and CEO of Street FIght.

Nearly 200 submissions were received in the competition, and they were judged by a group of innovators and local experts, including David Card, Director of Research for Street Fight Insights; Connectivity CEO Matt Booth; Maroon Ventures partner Charity Huff; DigitasLBI’s SVP Mobile & Digital Shopper Innovation, Brett Leary; Tidings Founder David Mihm; and Duct Tape Marketing President John Jantsch.

“The goal of the Local Visionary Awards is to highlight companies and initiatives that may become models for the industry, and we are very pleased with the finalists that emerged this year. They are truly demonstrating innovation that gets positive results,” said Rich.
