Openings and New Hires at Amazon, Swipely, and SweetIQ
Every two weeks, Kelly Benish — who knows practically everyone in hyperlocal — covers some of the latest job changes taking place in this dynamic industry. (Plus, scroll down for jobs on offer now.)
John Valentine – Swipely
John Valentine, recently left LevelUp to join Providence-based Swipely as the company’s new director of national sales. At LevelUp, his enterprise sales team sold custom-branded apps built on LevelUp’s mobile payment platform to merchants in the quick-serve and fast-casual restaurant spaces. Now he’ll be charged with selling Swipely’s cloud-based business management and payments platform, which helps restaurants use their own data to make informed decisions that grow sales. Congrats, John!
Tac Anderson – Amazon
Long-time Amazonian, Tac Anderson has announced on his personal blog that he’s taking a new position within the company, leading a centralized marketing team for Amazon Local. His post points to a wider roll out of local services for merchants including SEO and social media solutions being directly provisioned for SMB’s. Anderson was formerly a customer and product strategist at Amazon, and before that was VP of digital strategies at Waggener Edstrom, and social media strategic lead at HP.
Clark Gilbert – Deseret News
I’ve been fortunate to hear Clark Gilbert, the outgoing CEO of Deseret News and Deseret Digital Media speak at countless news media conferences in the past. Many in the newspaper space refer to him as a visionary and one thing is definitely clear; he is one of the most influential specialists in the arena of digital transformation. He announced this week that he’ll be leaving the company, with no word on what has planned next. I look forward to seeing where he ends up. Best of luck to you Clark!
Bradley Wing – Sweet IQ
Marketing automation provider SweetIQ recently announced the company will retain Bradley Wing as VP of partnerships and platform. Wing joined the SweetIQ team last year and has become an integral contributor to their growth. With over 16 years of experience in digital and local search environments, he has a deep understanding of how digital search marketing supports corporate strategies.
Also on the move: iInside’s VP of sales Anne Marie Stephen has decamped to start her own consulting company, Kwolia… Jon Cohn has left Acxiom after a 14-year run to become SVP of data products at RealtyTrac… Bill Conaway, who was a regional account exec at Comcast, has recently joined CivicScience as VP of client development…
