Monday, October 24: OpenDataSoft Raises $5.4 Million to Help Businesses Turn Data Into Better Strategies
Aster Capital and Salesforce Ventures participated in the round, TechCrunch reported. OpenDataSoft’s software helps businesses and other institutions turn massive amounts of data into solutions. It can help customers with “analyzing, processing, visualizing and sharing” their data. The company plans to expand into new markets across Western Europe and will open a Boston office to strengthen its presence in the United States.

Wednesday, October 26: CaliberMind Finds $1.1 Million to Smarten Up Clients’ Marketing and Sales
CaliberMind, which uses behavioral analytics software to boost its customers’ marketing and sales strategies, raised $1.1 million in seed funding from CEB Ventures, Colorado-based Meritage Funds, PV Ventures, and Crawley Ventures, according to a press release. CaliberMind will use the cash to expand its data science team and sales efforts.

Wednesday, October 26: Culture Trip Raises $20 Million Uses to Point Tourists Toward Local Experiences
PPF Group led the Series A round, EU Startups reported. Culture Trip is a media company that publishes content about various tourist destinations, attempting to leverage local knowledge for the benefit of global travelers. It touts the data-driven tool it offers to help users figure out what activities might suit them. With the capital, Culture Trip will focus on bolstering its technological strategy. 

Tuesday, November 1: Otonomo Hauls in $12 Million to Hook Up Developers, Service Providers with Connected Cars
Bessemer Venture Partners and Stageone Ventures led the Series A round, Venture Beat reported. Otonomo, which will use the funding to scale up its service, provides businesses and developers with connected car data that they can use to improve their own businesses.

Wednesday, November 2: Silvair Locks Down $12 Million for Purchase-Enabling IoT Innovation
Silvair has “perfected its systems and is now offering occupancy sensing, beacons, customer tracking and lighting to enterprise customers using a unique set of base stations and lightbulbs,” TechCrunch reported. For this slew of technological tools meant to boost a company’s sales and marketing strategies, Silvair has raised a $12 million Series A from the likes of Trigon TFI, Digital Garage, CyberAgent Ventures, and New Europe Ventures.

Thursday, November 3: Online Dollar Store Hollar Secures $30 Million
Kleiner Perkins led the round, Fortune reported. Hollar has found success in a space commonly thought of as the terrain of the local brick-and-mortar store. But Hollar is capitalizing on commercial trends toward digital: Over 70% of its traffic comes on mobile.
