Shakeup at Google Ventures
Google Ventures founder Bill Maris has stepped down as CEO. After leading the company since its creation in 2008, the well known investor handed the reigns over to GV managing partner David Krane. Maris’ final day at the company will be immediate. The change in leadership is roughly one year after the new Alphabet reorg at Google. More news about the departure likely to come out over the next few weeks.
TapClicks Hires Former eBay Managing Director
Former managing director of eBay, Michael Lavoie, has joined marketing platform TapClicks as their new senior vice president of customer service. Prior to eBay and TapClicks, Lavoie was executive vice president of client services at Epsilon and brings over 15 years of knowledge in the digital marketing market to his new role.
GotU Hires TigerPistol Sales Lead
Former TigerPistol head of partnerships, Brianna Bartlett, has taken a new role at U.K. hyperlocal marketing solutions company GotU. Bartlett will spearhead U.S. partnerships as the company works to grow its U.S. presence.
MatchCraft Hires Marketing Specialist
Avni Agrawal has joined premiere search management platform MatchCraft as marketing specialist. She will be tasked with spearheading strategic marketing, demand generation, and communication. Agrawal was director of marketing at D. Burns Design Corp for a year and a half before taking the role. She will report to Lauren Kardos who assumed the head of finance and marketing role at the company a few months ago.
Former Yodle CTO Joins Goodway Group
John Merryman has joined programmatic media firm Goodway Group as the company’s first ever CTO. Merryman served as the CTO of local digital marketing company Yodle and senior vice president of engineering at meal delivery startup Plated. Merryman’s other past career experience also includes technology leadership roles at Didit and DoubleClick.
