Robert Wiseman – Angie’s List
Robert Wiseman was just welcomed aboard the Angie’s List express. He was brought on as the CTO of the service-based business giant from an 8-year stint as CTO of Sabre’s travel network. Angie’s List’s most recent CTO prior to Wiseman, Manu Thapar, left the company a couple of months ago.
Gib Olander – SIM Partners
Gib Olander was just appointed as VP of Product at SIM Partners. With more than 15 years of digital marketing experience he is sure to give the local/social marketing automation platform the added oomph they may have been needing. SIM Partners has been collecting a menagerie of digital talent including Ced Simpson and Brett Fritz most recently. As an industry leader in product innovation, data distribution and technology, Olander was CEO & founder of Local Viewpoints, which was a localized & mobile customer feedback platform. Prior to Local Viewpoints, Olander led product and market development strategy for Localeze. Gib is what I would call the Godfather of local — I guess SIM Partners made him an offer he couldn’t refuse! Congrats!
Greg Maibach – BuzzBoard
The talented and awesome Greg Maibach made a move from the director of retail/shopping at Advance Digital to the regional VP of sales for Vsplash’s BuzzBoard tool. Greg spent most of his working years at Advance Digital at their Cleveland.com property, and was promoted several times over 13 years from major accounts to advertising manager for the parent company. With his experience, determination and loyalty, it seems that his new role with BuzzBoard will help to take them to the next level. Happy for you Greg!
Rakesh “Rocky” Agrawal – PayPal
PayPal, the payment processing monolith has put a strong push on getting SMB buy-in to use their processing platform, and the space is only getting more and more crowded with competitors such as Square. Former AOL and Microsoft veteran Rakesh Agrawal, has been appointed the company’s new director of strategy to help connect with small businesses. It seems that PayPal went on a hiring overhaul bringing on new VP of growth and strategy Stan Chudnovsky, and new chief product officer Hill Ferguson in the last month. rocky will be a speaker at Street Fight Summit West, taking place in San Francisco on June 3rd.
Devin C. Johnson – Tribune Broadcasting
Last week, Tribune Broadcasting appointed Devin C. Johnson as their new SVP, head of digital media. Johnson has an extensive history in spearheading digital media management at NBC Universal, Clear Channel and Studio One. Johnson will be charged with managing social media, content, product development, technology and digital sales strategy for Tribune Broadcasting. Fun Fact: about 10 years ago he worked for Tribune in their corporate Finance department.
Sarah McCrary – Leaf
Leaf, the tablet specifically designed for commerce, is really branching out lately. They recently announced some integral executive hires and office expansion. After raising some crazy funding (upwards of $20M) in 2013 they were in a keen position to bring on a new COO Sarah McCrary, VP of Finance Chad Kelly, plus a new VP of engineering, Dan Smith. Leaf also moved into an office of 15,000 square feet to support their “explosive” growth in which the company expanded its team to more than 50 employees. They have plans to absolutely “kill it” in 2014 and expect to double by 2015.
