J.J. Hirschle – Twitter
Twitter Inc. has hired a Google ad executive to be head of retail, as the company ramps up hiring and works to expand its business ahead of an initial public offering. J.J. Hirschle, who directed media and entertainment advertising at Google, will be responsible for the team selling advertising products to retail companies. The hire comes as Twitter has been strategically building up its advertising business by reaching out to retailers. Twitter has been hiring quickly to beef up its workforce and expand its business. In a filing this week, the company said it added 300 employees in the third quarter, for a total of 2,300.

Ken Stempler – Moasis
Moasis Global is quickly expanding and has recently hired Ken Stempler to be its new CRO. Ken brings more than 25 years of sales and marketing management experience, 15+ of which are in the advertising and mobile space to Moasis. Most recently, Stempler held senior roles at Telenav Inc. (ThinkNear by Telenav) a global company specializing in location-based advertising solutions and Mobile Posse, where he was instrumental in leading the charge and helping put their respective advertising sales divisions on the map.

Donna Granato – Tribune Company
Tribune has announced the appointment of Donna Granato as VP of corporate finance and investor relations. Granato will be responsible for all aspects of investor communications and will work with the company’s executive team on a broad range of strategic, financial and operational initiatives. Granato assumes her new duties immediately. Prior to joining Tribune, Granato held financial and operational roles of increasing responsibility in such areas as investor relations, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. She has deep media and communications experience, having worked at CBS, Viacom, Interpublic Group, MDC Partners and Omnicom. She also spent two years as a media investment banker at Salomon Smith Barney.

Steve Hafner – Trulia
Kayak co-founder and CEO Steve Hafner has been appointed to listing portal Trulia’s board of directors, where Trulia CEO Pete Flint says he’ll provide “insights and a fresh perspective that will challenge us and help us to continue to grow our business and brand based on his track record of success.”Hafner led the travel search site through an IPO and acquisition by online travel agency Priceline, with his skill set it appears to be a great strategic decision for pulling him aboard.

Robbie Schwietzer – Groupon
Groupon has been internally reorganizing team members as of late. The daily deals company promoted Robbie Schwietzer, a 10-year veteran to an SVP role recently. Schwietzer was a VP tasked with running Amazon Prime, Groupon’s profitable free two-day shipping membership business.
