Every two weeks, Kelly Benish — who knows practically everyone in hyperlocal — covers some of the latest job changes taking place in this dynamic industry. (Plus, scroll down for jobs on offer now.)

Brett Caine – Urban Airship
Push notification provider Urban Airship has poached former Citrix president Brett Caine to be their new CEO. This comes in the wake of a sexual assault investigation focused on former CEO Scott Kveton, who stepped down earlier this year (a grand jury declined to indict Kveton last month). Caine steps in for Mike Temple, the company’s CFO who had been serving as interim CEO. He will live in San Francisco, juggling travel between Urban Airship’s Portland and London offices.

Logan Coker – Manta
I first met the Cokester almost six years ago and I’ve followed his career from the time where he was business development manager for Yola, then went over to BizBuySell (which is the largest small business for-sale marketplace) where he managed channel partnerships and created content for marketing purposes. Most recently he was recruited by business directory Manta to become their director of business development. Logan’s worked in the local space for a long time and has some very valuable relationships he will be bringing Manta.

Kelly Benish – CivicScience
Yours truly (Kelly Benish) has joined publisher audience insight platform CivicScience as their VP of publisher development, after my most recent experience as VP of sales and marketing for Search Influence. While I will miss the amazing group of people at SI, I was ready for my next adventure and couldn’t think of a better place than CivicScience. While at SI we helped publishers form their own digital agencies — at CivicScience, we’re helping publishers mine data smartly by polling their subscribers and profiling them. This will help improve ad sales, retention, provide the editorial team with trending insights, and provide deep data to include in white papers, sponsored posts and case studies.

Jonah Freedman – Stubhub
Stubhub just hired its inaugural editor-in-chief with the goal of becoming a music and sports destination site. (They should acquire the Bands in Town app if that is their aim) The event ticketing platform owned by eBay publicly affirmed that they have an image problem and their golden child/new hire Jonah Freedman will help facilitate the intersection between commerce and culture with a major focus on content. This is the cornerstone of a long-term company goal to focus on fresh ideas and a company-wide overhaul on reinvention for the consumer side.

Mass Hiring – Gimbal
In May, Gimbal a leading location based technology spun off from Qualcomm (a digital communications manufacturing giant in the space) and the company has been growing like a well-watered chia pet. After separating from the mothership, Gimbal secured one of their largest partners Urban Airship (aforementioned) and they’ve been making it rain together ever since.  They quickly grew to a 30-person team and have moved from bootstrapped spinoff to successful startup.

Biz Dev Hires – Colony Logic
Colony Logic has hired a trio of new business development director recently, bringing on Justin Coleman, Joseph Tamagna, and Fabi Muirragui. Coleman most recently worked as director of sales, publishing group at Newspaper Data Exchange (NDX) — previously he worked at Tactician Media, LLC, KMOV/BELO Interactive, Verve Wireless and the Hearst Corporation/Houston Chronicle. Tamagna has over 15 years of sales and sales management experience within the financial services and tech industries, working for Citigroup, ADP, TheMarkets.com/S&P, IntraLinks and most recently the SAVO Group.  And Muirragui was most recently business development manager at Burwood Group, focused on providing customized technology solutions to clients within healthcare, finance and education.
