“It’s time that Europe had its first Local Commerce event, bringing together industry leaders so that expertise and thought leadership can finally be shared” said Stavros Prodromou, the event’s organizer who also serves as CEO at the eDeal Association. “Technology and Innovation is thriving very fast into the space. Providers have seen that through collaboration and partnership you can achieve not only a stronger brand, but also a better service to merchants and customers.”

2013 has seen amazing developments in Local Commerce in Europe, from the introduction of payment systems like Square, to innovative technology companies such as Bytelight, to big companies like Groupon and Go Daddy that are trying to tap into the local commerce ecosystem.

Hirschman’s panel on indoor mapping and location services will look at the next frontier for the location services market. Indoor maps emerged rapidly in 2009 as start-ups such as Point Inside and Micello, and later giant NAVTEQ, released their indoor content. While indoor mapping data is available for in-building wayfinding apps, associated location determination is still a challenge.

Other confirmed speakers at the conference include Daniel Ryan, CEO of Bytelight; Justin Cooke, CMO of TopShop; Thorsten Mattig, managing director of BMWi Ventures;  Kerstin Trikalitis, CEO of Out There Media; and Lauren Indvik, associate editor at Mashable; and many more.
