Customer data platform Simon Data is announcing this morning $20 million in Series B venture funding. Led by Polaris Partners, the round will help Simon grow as it seeks to convince marketers that it offers solutions no other CDP can.

Simon claims that what sets it apart from rivals is its ability to not only present a rich portrait of the audiences marketers are targeting but also help marketers reach those audiences through sophisticated campaign management.

“The current crop of enterprise CDPs are falling short of their promise to deliver on personalization,” said Josh Neckes, Co-Founder & President of Simon Data, in a press release distributed by the company. “Like us, they have the capacity to join data from disparate sources to build a rich, unified view of the customer. Unlike us, they’re completely incapable of complex campaign orchestration.

Simon’s current list of clients includes such big names as Airbnb, OpenTable, and Blue Apron.
