SurePath Capital Adds First Advisor
Perry Evans, Denver-based entrepreneur who has led the formation and development of four ventures that span mapping (MapQuest), local search (Local Matters), messaging (Jabber), and small business mobile marketing (Closely) has been appointed as an Advisor to SurePath Capital. SurePath Capital is a strategic financial advisor to today’s emerging leaders in SaaS, e-commerce and SMB software In addition to his advising role, Perry will continue his duties as SVP, Product Strategy & Corporate Development after the acquisition of Closely.

Empyr Hires Veteran Executive As COO
Bryon Cook has joined Empyr as Chief Operating Officer. Cook was most recently Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Lytx where he served since 2006. The hire of a seasoned leader such as Cook could mean a bigger raise or acquisition in the works for Empyr. Empyr has raised around $3m in venture capital and its subsidiary – MOGL – has raised over $45m in venture funding.

Two New Hires At LotLinx
LotLinx announced the addition of two new members to its executive staff. Bob Sherman, has been named Vice President of Enterprise Business Development. Additionally, Kim De Palma, has joined as Vice President of Enterprise Partner Development. Sherman’s experience in the automotive space ranges from Director of Business Development at CoreLogic Credco and Director of Sales at IHS Automotive. Prior to LotLinx, De Palma was Director of Business Development at CallRevu and Director of Conference Operations at Digital Dealer.

Vistar Media Picks Up Ex-GroundTruth Exec as CRO
Out-of-Home adtech company Vistar Media has brought on a new CRO, nabbing Matt Schuster, who had been head of performance strategy at GroundTruth. Schuster had been at the location intelligence firm since the beginning of 2015, and had previously been the company’s head of sales.
