Yext Adds President, Hires Two Execs
Yext has brought on Jim Steele as President and Chief Revenue Officer — an interesting move since Steele was already on the company’s board. He is stepping down from the board of directors to join the Yext full-time. Previously, Steele served as president and chief customer officer at Salesforce, where he had worked for 12 years and helped grow Salesforce’s revenue to over $5B. It seems clear that Yext wants to put everything in place — from an executive leadership standpoint — before a potential IPO. Yext has raised at total of $116m in venture capital, and has not raised since their $50m+ round in 2014.
After two years as director for DACH and Central and Eastern Europe at Google’s DoubleClick, Michael Hartwig has left DoubleClick to lead Yext’s German office as managing partner of Central Europe. Hartwig will lead operations for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Prior to Yext and DoubleClick, Hartwig was CEO of eprofessional and CMO of zanox.
Duane Forrester joins Yext as VP of insights from Bruce Clay, Inc. where he served as vice president of organic search operations. Forrester also spent eight years at Bing and Microsoft in senior product manager roles.
