Former Twitter VP Heads To Yext
As Yext plans for IPO, the hiring continues. Brian Schipper, former vice president of human resources at Twitter, is joining Yext as chief people officer. Yext has surpassed a $100m run rate which many think will set the stage for a public offering in the near future. Twitter, meanwhile, continues to lose key execs as the global company tries to stay afloat.
Heavy Hitter Joins Advice Local
Local SEO expert Bill Hartzer has joined Advice Local, where he will be senior vice president of agency services. Previously, Hartzer was a senior strategist at Globe Runner, a full service interactive marketing firm. In addition to running his own consultancy, he is also founder of the Dallas/Fort Worth Search Engine Marketing Association.
Sightly Gains Digital Veteran
Sightly, a which makes software for video advertising, has named digital advertising expert Larry Harris as chief strategy officer. Prior to Sightly, Harris was the chief strategy officer at Kiosked and chief marketing officer at PubMatic.
Global Sales Lead Hired at Cuebiq
Cuebiq, the location intelligence company, has hired Jim Shilale to head up global sales. Cuebiq raised $3m in 2015 and is in revenue growth mode. Prior to his appointment to this role, Shilale led business development at AppTap; and before that he was responsible for sales and business development for MocoSpace. He has also held senior positions with other leading international SaaS based platforms including Velti and 2Ergo.
New CPO At TapClicks
TapClicks nabbed Anthony Adams from his prior role at the Robb Report (CurtCo media). Adams was hired by TapClicks as SVP of Product. With his previous experience as SVP for Ziff Davis, UBM and Robb Report, he will bring leadership and expertise to the post.
Bigcommerce Tech Exec Joins Verve
Long-time Bigcommerce executive, Melanie Kalemba, has left her post to join Verve Mobile. Kalema spent the last four years in different leadership roles at Bigcommerce before joining Verve Mobile as GM/SVP. Verve Mobile has raised close to $40m in venture capital and their (somewhat) newly appointed CEO Nada Stirratt is looking to aggressively grow the company.
ModCloth Hires CTO
ModCloth, a digitally-native lifestyle designs that sells its own exclusive line of apparel, has hired Nicolas Genest as chief technology officer. Genest joins ModCloth with over 15 years experience building and leading engineering, product and data organizations across consumer, tech and online retail industries. Genest most recently served as the CTO at The RealReal.
