Jerry-NuttunoSchedulicity Brings Back Founder as CEO
After a couple years as executive chairman, Jerry Nettuno is returning to Schedulicity as CEO. Nettuno founded the scheduling and booking company in 2005 and was CEO until 2013. Schedulicity has “facilitated more than 70 million appointment and class-based transactions — representing over $4.5 billion in app-based commerce” according to their press release. Nonetheless, Schedulicity is in a competitive space and precise growth and technology execution is what will drive the company forward.

Upserve Makes Strategic Hires
Upserveformerly known as Swipely — has hired two executives to help with the company’s strategic growth plans. Paul Goetz will join as Chief Revenue Officer and Sean Lannan as Chief Financial Officer. Upserve provides technology products to restaurants to improve operations and customer experience. The company has pivoted a few times and seems like they have found their niche. Investors clearly like the moves since Upserve has raised over $40M in venture capital from top tier investors.

Placed Ramping Up With Executive Hires
Placed — the location driven insights and mobile ad intelligence platform — has hired two executives to the team: Aaron Johnston as SVP of Sales and Jim Watson as SVP of Strategy and Operations. Johnston hails from Google where he led agency sales and account management for the DoubleClick team. Watson joins the team from Placements.io where he was COO. Placed raised $10M in venture capital in 2014, so the executive hires seem to add some management to the chaos of running an ever changing startup.

xAd Appoints Industry Veterans To Board Of Directors
xAd, the location platform that enables marketers to reach the right people based on real places, announced John Costello, President of Global Marketing and Innovation at Dunkin’ Brands, and Bill Zerella, CFO of Fitbit, have been appointed to its Board of Directors. The additions to the Board of Directors is interesting for the privately held company. xAd has raised $74M in venture funding and in 2014 had an ARR of $65M. The company may be planning for a massive growth round of funding or IPO in the future.

Signpost Ramps Up Revenue Team
Former head of business development and partnerships at StumbleUpon, Eric Sedransk, has joined Signpost as a business development manager. Signpost – the CRM tool for local businesses – has raised over $35M in venture capital and closed a large $20.5M round in April 2015.
