Twitter’s SVP of product, Kevin Weil, left his post last weekend to join Instagram as head of product. Weil had worked at Twitter since 2010 in various product roles before departing. He was a part of several senior executives to leave Twitter over the past week – a damning situation for Twitter as the company continues to struggle.

Brendan O’Donnell Joins Euclid as SVP
Euclid has made a significant strategic hire after raising $20M from Cox Enterprises (Cox Media). The location analytics company hired Brennan O’Donnell as svp of business development. Prior to Euclid, O’Donnel held multiple senior roles at SurveyMonkey and Yammer. The $20M investment by Cox Enterprises looks like a strategic one with a potential acquisition on the horizon.

Sheldon Adelson’s Vegas Paper Appoints Publisher
Former USA Today publisher and thirty year Gannett veteran, Craig Moon, has joined Las Vegas Review-Journal as publisher. As publisher revenue continues to fall, Moon has a tough job ahead to bring the struggling paper up from its knees.

Chief Sales Officer Appointed at Kareo
Drew Hamilton, an executive with 18+ years of experience, has joined Kareo as chief sales officer. The cloud based-software company for medical practices is in super growth mode after raising $55.4M in July. Kareo continues to expand rapidly and has raised $151.3M to date. Hamilton’s appointment is key to success for the Orange County company especially since sales and operations must have predictable revenue as the company aims to exceed goals.

Uber GM Departs
HopSkipDrive, the leading ride service for kids, raised a $10M Series A this week. Along with the raise, the company has hired former Uber Los Angeles General Manager – Eyal Gutentag – as chief operating officer. Gutentag’s expansion and market development experience will greatly help in his new COO role.

Ebay Vet Walt Doyle Is GasBuddy’s New Chief Executive
Operations executive and venture capitalist Walt Doyle was appointed CEO of GasBuddy. Doyle brings operations experience to the gasoline price intelligence app. According to the team, GasBuddy has been downloaded 53 million times and has over 160,000 gas stations on file. Prior to joining GasBuddy, Doyle was the founder of Where Inc. which was acquired by Paypal.

Rocket Fuel’s Strategic Hire
After starting his own company (Emphatic), Eric Duerr has joined Rocket Fuel as chief marketing officer. The publicly traded company’s stock has dropped 79% since March 2015. As the company looks to win in the competitive programmatic ad technology space, Duerr must focus on messaging, lead generation, product, and revenue in order to alleviate current woes.
