ZocDoc CEO Steps Down
Cyrus Massoumi has stepped down as CEO of ZocDoc after co-founding the company in 2007. Massoumi will stay on as board chair but will relinquish CEO responsibilities to co-founder Oliver Kharraz. The change is significant since Massoumi raised $230 million in venture funding, grew the company to 600 employees, and positioned ZocDoc as a premier health technology company.

Uber Lands Google Product Veteran
Seven-year Google veteran, Manik Gupta, has joined former head of Google Maps Brian McClendon at Uber as director of product. The move should not come as a surprise since Uber wants to solve several mapping problems to improve the passenger experience and increase rider frequency. If Uber drivers can be more efficient based on routes, passenger demand, and logistics, it could drive a significant revenue growth. While Uber remains on a growth path, expect the company to continuing hiring top-name talent from around the industry.

Former CMO of Restaurant.com Joins Sears
After four years as president and chief marketing officer at Restaurant.com, Christopher Krohn has joined Sears Holdings as vice president of customer experience. Krohn will bring an array of local data and marketing knowledge to his new post.

Yext Hires Sales Executive
Jonathan Cherins, a former executive vice president at TravelClick, has joined Yext as executive vice president of small business and partner channels. Cherins has years of local experience and worked in several leadership roles at Dun & Bradstreet. Yext’s hiring spree signals larger ambitions, including the long-rumored prospect of an IPO.

Tru Measure Loses Sales Guru
Zella Bracy has left McClatchy’s Tru Measure after being a part of the McClatchy family since 2006. Bracy led business development efforts for Tru Measure for more than two years. She joins Simpli.fi as senior director of platforms, where she will focus on strategic partnerships and initiatives.
