Angie’s List President & CEO Scott Durchslag

Angie’s List Hires New CEO
After months of searching for a new CEO, Angie’s List has hired Scott Durchslag to the post of CEO and President. Most recently, Durchslag was President of Global Ecommerce & Marketing at Best Buy. Angie’s List has struggled for several years and its stock price has dropped steadily, so Durchslag comes in at a critical time for the business, and his experience in ecommerce should add great value to the company. He doesn’t have an extensive track record in M&A, which perhaps suggests Angie’s List is not actively seeking to sell.

L.A. Times Publisher Fired
After 13 months on the job, L.A. Times publisher Austin Beutner was let go. He heard the news while listening to the radio during his morning commute to work on Tuesday. Beutner, who was the former deputy mayor of Los Angeles and a mayoral candidate, posted on Facebook that it was not a mutual separation.

MultiView Lands Former ReachLocal Marketing Exec
MultiView has hired former ReachLocal exec Todd Ebert as CMO. Ebert is a seasoned B2B marketing veteran and will be applying over 20 years of experience to accelerate company growth. Most recently, Ebert was ReachLocal’s CMO, and was with the company for about seven years.

SweetIQ Staffing Up After 10x Growth
SweetIQ, the fast-growing Montreal-based local marketing automation startup, has hired a new executive. David Li, former Senior Business Program Manager at Yellow Pages, has joined the company as Director of Operations. Over the past 18 months, SweetIQ has seen a ten-fold increase in customer acquisition, with no signs of slowing down.

Retailigence Hires CRO
Sherry Thomas-Zon is the new CRO at Retailigence. Thomas-Zon most recently was VP of Shopping Data Platform at Local Corporation. She was formerly the CEO of Krillion, which she sold to Local Corporation.

Yext Snaps Up Entrepreneurial Talent
Wesley Barrow, Co-Founder of NOMi, left full-time responsibilities at the startup this month to join Yext as SVP of New Business. Barrow will be focused on launching new products and revenue initiatives. Yext is rumored to go public in 2016, so ramping up on strategic hires will likely continue throughout the next year.

Customer Lobby Brings On First VP of Marketing
Ed Korenman has joined Customer Lobby as its VP of Marketing. Korenman was brought on to help scale the company as it builds out repeat customer marketing solutions and develops additional marketing tools on top of its Direct Connect data platform. Previously, Korenman was Head of Marketing at Message Bus and VP of Marketing at FusionStorm.
