Help WantedAs many legacy marketers and publishers continue to see jobs slashed in their own industries, hyperlocal is hiring. Street Fight’s job listings board, powered by StartUpHire, has added listings within the past few weeks. The board hosts multiple listings in operations, sales and tech, from companies such as Mashery, Factual, Loopt, OneSpot, Yipit, JiWire, Half-Off Depot, Inc., EveryScape, SCVNGR and Poggled. Below, we examine the newest hirers.

  • Factual has been no stranger to news the past few months, with the release of its GeoPulse API in May and its Monetize API earlier this month. The company has added to its previous eight listings on the board with two new positions, both listed as developer evangelists — one based in Los Angeles and the other in Palo Alto. According to the listing, the job will be both technical and social, as anyone hired will encourage developers to use Factual’s open data platform to enrich the company’s data ecosystem.
  • On the heels of $12 million in funding for its new mobile payment offering LevelUp, Boston-based SCVNGR made its debut on Street Fight’s job listings board earlier this month with two new positions — a senior software engineer, based in Boston, and a sales rockstar, based in Los Angeles. Yes, a sales rockstar. Qualifications for the position, you might ask? The company is looking for a college-educated, enthusiastic and persistent salesperson to push SCVNGR’s LevelUp pay phone app to merchants, according to the listing. Say you’re not interested in the position? Refer a salesperson to the company, and if that person is hired, SCVNGR promises you $1,000!
  •  Location-based mobile advertising network JiWire unveiled its new “Mobile Ads for Access” program at Street Fight Summit West in early June, offering users the option to enjoy WiFi access as long as they agree to consume advertising content. The company’s commitment to mobile only continues with its third and latest listing to the board — a senior yield manager. The listing notes that the manager will focus on campaign and delivery metrics, as well as revenue delivery and performance. Previous experience with mobile ad networks is a plus, the listing says, with technical proficiency in data analysis tools and communication skills a requirement.
  • Like SCVNGR, Poggled, or the “Groupon for Nightlife,” premiered on the board this month, adding another daily deals presence alongside deals aggregator Yipit. The company is hiring a software engineer, to be based in Chicago, with three or more years of software engineering experience and professional Web language experience listed as job requirements. The engineer, per the listing, will be responsible for designing solutions for search, ecommerce transactions, social integration, personalization, and creating/enhancing API.
